Having joined Passionate People in 2019 as a Consultant Tech Lead, I found ways to contribute to the long-term success of the organization, eventually becoming Passionate People's first Engineering Manager.
In my role as a Consultant Tech Lead, I provided internal and external consulting advice in almost every aspect of Web Development and Engineering: Front-end, Back-end, WebOps, DesignOps, Release management, and more. I specialized in cross-browser compatibility, responsive web development, micro front-end architecture, and business-critical systems, working daily with frameworks like Angular, AngularJS, Polymer, React, Svelte, and VueJS.
After some months, I was appointed as the company's first Engineering Manager, establishing the first management layer between the founders and the consulting team and helping build a scalable, high-performing team.
The questions that shaped my role
How can we make the operation of our business scalable and not fully depending on our founders? How can we structurally improve the development of new skills of our consulting team? How can we ensure our internal projects run smoothly, successfully, and at scale?
As Passionate People's first Engineering Manager, I took on the responsibility of building a high-performance consulting practice. I worked closely with the Management Team to shape Passionate People's strategy and help our consultants deliver their best work by designing meaningful work that encourages personal and professional growth.
Giving back to the developer community
One of the highlights of my time at Passionate People was the opportunity to host multiple conferences with tens of thousands of attendees all around the world, even being part of the unveiling of Vue.js 3 interviewing its creator and conducting multiple expert panels and online Q&A sessions. This experience allowed me to interact with thought leaders of the Frontend scene and contribute to the broader developer community.
